Green's premium Pilsner

Dear sweet lord, may this not *excite* my various allergies.

Amen.

(Available from Sainsbury's Free from section for a mere £1.99 - Other supermarkets are available)

(Or "how to get an atheist beer lover to pray - take away beer")

Anti-histamines at the ready...

EDIT: it didn't. I am happy. Vaguely beer like, in contrast to the Green's Lager which tastes for all the world like slightly sweet citrus washing up liquid.

Bugger

Turns out I'm gluten intolerant (not coeliac, praise be). So barley free living is a bit of a misanomer....blog title change ahoy!!

Confectionary news (Says she, sobbing gently)

Sorry peeps, but the following are out of the mix for the barley-allergic people....

Lindt Lindor (Barley Malt Extract) - these were the favours at my wedding. Boo hoo!
Milky Way (Barley Malt Extract)
Mars (Barley Malt Extract)
Snickers (Barley Malt Extract)

Balls. Literally no more Lindor balls for me!

Alchemy

Tonight was my second attempt at making GF Yorkshire puds. It was better (slightly) but it's a bit like trying to make gold out of snots and dribble.

Damn you, pesky innards.

Mars Milky Way

For some reason best known to Mars, these contain barley malt extract, so that's another big cross on the list. Poop.

Gluten free Yorkshire Pudding

Really rather pleasant tasting if a little lacking in the rising department.

If you took that statement out of context, it would be rather rude....

Happy to report that Papa John's....

....doesn't appear to have much (if any) barley contamination. Yeehaw!!
